Elkay was setup in 1990 by four US returned technocrats to develop, manufacture and market specialty silicone products for Indian as well as global markets. Since its first commercial production in 1994 at its Bhosari, Pune facility, the company has expanded over 45 folds with the present capacity of over 5,500 MT/year of specialty silicone fluids, emulsions and formulations. Elkay commenced exports in 1998 and today exports half of its annual output. With ever expanding exports to America, Europe, Asia, Oceania and Middle East we have a truly global presence.

Founders
Dr. Ravindra Kulkarni is a graduate from I.I.Sc., Bangalore, followed by Ph.D. from Columbia University, New York. He has 38 patents and technical publications in international journals. He worked in the USA for over 20-years with large companies such as Union Carbide, Exxon and IBM before returning to India in 1990 to start ELKAY.
Mr. A.K. Lokapur has completed his B.Tech from I.I.T. Mumbai, followed by M. Tech (Chemical Engineering) from Texas Tech University, USA in 1985.
Leadership Team
Dr. Rahul Kulkarni has completed his B.Tech from the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai and Ph.D from the University of Akron, Ohio USA in 2009. He worked with ExxonMobil in the US before joining Elkay in 2013, as V.P. (Technical Marketing).
Mr. Dhananjay Lokapur has completed his B.Tech (Mechanical) from COEP and M.S. (Mechanical) from Univ. of Santa Clara, CA. USA, to join ELKAY in 2015 as a Project Manager.
Mrs. Alka Kulkarni is the HR Director. She has completed her MSc. from the University of Mumbai and has done a Diploma in HR Management from SIBM. She worked in the US for 7 years before coming to India. She is a lead auditor for ISO-9001.
